CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Plyopic All In One Mat

1. HOW TO CLEAN IT

To maximise the lifespan of your Plyopic All in One Mat, we suggest using an essential oil-based mat cleaning spray most often to clean your mat. Alternatively, hand wash with a wet cloth and a small amount of mild soap (if required).

We would recommend:

Asutra 100% Natural & Organic Yoga Mat Cleaner Spray

Mind Over Lather Natural Yoga Mat Cleaning Spray

To clean with a cleaning spray, spray the length of your mat and wipe gently with a damp cloth or non-abrasive sponge.

To hand wash, use a tiny drop of dish soap diluted very heavily with plenty of water, and wipe it gently with a non-abrasive sponge that is damp, but not soaking wet. As an alternative to dish soap you can try a more natural solution of lemon juice or white vinegar, in both cases very heavily diluted in lots of water.

We recommend you clean your mat only after about every 5-10 uses. If you regularly practice in sweaty conditions, you may wish to clean your mat more frequently but remember that whilst our planet-friendly mat materials are remarkably durable for Yoga practice, over-cleaning or using abrasive products will wear out the materials faster.

If you decide to use another yoga mat spray cleaning product, or make your own essential oil-based cleaner, we would suggest that you test it on a small corner of your mat before applying to the full surface.

We have tested and recommend the following essential oil blends for use on your mat. Please note, the quantities below are for a 60ml spray bottle filled with water.

Relax and Restore:
Add 10-15 drops of lavender oil

Energizing:
Add 10 drops of grapefruit oil
Add 10 drops of orange oil

Breathe:
Add 15 drops of eucalyptus oil
Add 10 drops of peppermint oil

2. LET IT DRY

After any practice, especially a sweaty one, and after cleaning, allow your mat to dry fully before you roll it up.

To speed up the drying process, roll your mat up with a towel to absorb excess water before hanging to dry.

Heading straight home from your class? No problem, roll it up, take it home and unroll to dry as soon as you get a chance.

3. AVOID PROLONGED SUN EXPOSURE

Your mat is biodegradable by design, so prolonged exposure to the sun can degrade it more quickly. But don’t worry, our mats are okay with the odd bit of sun, just avoid leaving them cooking on any patio or terrace for hours.

4. STORE IT AWAY

Roll it up with the top side (with the printed surface) on the outside between uses. Your mat is designed to be rolled this way, and this will help ensure your mat rolls out nice and flat each time you use it.

5. USE YOUR MAT

Because of the absorbent (and hygienic) materials we use, you may notice that over time and use, your skin’s natural oils may mark or stain the surface of the mat. Try to avoid practising on the mat with freshly applied oily creams or massage oil, etc. as, of course, these may stain more. The good news is that these sorts of marks will often fade gradually with time or after cleaning. But overall, we say be proud of your mat’s warrior-like scars from all those hours of asanas!
