CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Plyopic Ultra Grip Mat
We want you to be able to use and get the most out of your Plyopic Ultra Grip Mat for as long as possible. To do so, please care for your mat by following the instructions below:
1. HOW TO CLEAN IT
-
Use a tiny drop of dish soap diluted very heavily with plenty of water, and wipe it gently with a non-abrasive sponge that is damp, but not soaking wet.
-
As an alternative to dish soap you can try a more natural solution of lemon juice or white vinegar, in both cases very heavily diluted in lots of water.
-
Clean your mat only after about every 5–10 uses. If you practice in sweaty conditions, you may wish to clean it more often.
-
Avoid chemical mat cleaners or sprays with essential oils, as they may damage the surface.
2. LET IT DRY
-
After any practice, especially a sweaty one, and after cleaning, allow your mat to dry fully before rolling it up.
-
If you roll it up to take home after class, unroll it to dry as soon as you can.
3. AVOID PROLONGED SUN EXPOSURE
-
Your mat is biodegradable, so prolonged direct sunlight can degrade it more quickly.
-
The odd bit of sun is fine — just avoid leaving it baking outside for hours.
4. STORE IT AWAY
-
Always roll the mat with the top PU surface (the one with the centre line) facing outwards. This ensures it rolls out flat each time.
-
Make sure the mat is completely dry before rolling. Never fold it or store it with the PU surfaces pressed against each other, as moisture and oils can cause the layers to bond and damage the coating.
-
We recommend storing your mat in a yoga mat bag to protect the surface.
5. USE YOUR MAT
-
Over time, natural oils from your skin may mark the surface. Avoid using the mat with freshly applied lotions or massage oils, as these can stain.
-
Marks and “scars” often fade with use or gentle cleaning, and are a sign of your practice journey.
-
The Ultra Grip mat is designed for barefoot/hand practice only. Using shoes or socks with grips may damage the surface.
- Occasionally, after heavy use or certain conditions, the materials may get a bit ‘clogged up’. If this happens, we can recommend deeper cleaning methods — just get in touch and we’ll guide you.
