Best Yoga Festivals 2017

Best Yoga Festivals 2017

Yoga festivals are a great way to let loose and immerse yourself in music, dance, wellbeing and freedom of spirit with other like minded yogis and yoginis. Set in some incredible locations, with plenty of activities and a less structured format than yoga retreats, festivals promise to reignite your passion for your practice. We’ve selected our 5 favourites based on location, facilities, vibes and range of activities.

Wanderlust

Locations: Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Canada, Vermont, Colorado, California, and Texas.

May – September 2017

Wanderlust is the best known yoga festival out there and for good reason. A Wanderlust festival is one that combines practice, music, adventure , knowledge and cuisine. It really has something to offer for every yogi! The success of Wanderlust in the US and Canada has seen their annual festival calendar grow to locations the world over. Described as “all-out celebrations of mindful living “, we love the direction that Wanderlust has taken the format of the modern music festival and infused it with holistic pursuits and adventure.  Join a rockstar lineup of yoga and meditation instructors, musicians, speakers, chefs and attendees at your nearest Wanderlust to “find your true north” and have an experience you’ll never forget.

Envision Yoga Festival

Location: Uvita, Costa Rica

February 2018

A 4-day experience of yoga, movement, music, and performance artists. Dance in the jungle with/like wild animals in the atmospheric sunrise and sunset sets, take a dip in the sea and bliss out on the beach after a yoga class. Walk through the jungle with glowing dreamcatchers to guide your way. Smother yourself with blue healing clay from the Costa Rican mountains, eat healing foods and drink fresh coconuts, essential oil and chaga infused drinks on hot and humid days.

The Groove Yoga Festival

Locations: Ontario, Nepal, Cologne, Hamburg…

March-October 2017

Called “the grooviest yoga festival in town”, Groove Festivals combine world-renowned teachers with nightly music concerts, thai massage, good food and new friendships in some breathtaking locations across the world.  Groove is highly focused on three elements: movement, celebration and community. There is such a diverse range of yoga classes available at Groove, some of which I’d never heard of: Budokon anyone? Sessions are spun in perfect harmony to music by live DJs, which empowered the flow. And with such a chilled togetherness, all anxieties I had at the start of this festival disappeared. This is the festival to bond with others sharing a similar outlook of gratitude and kindness.

Yoga Connects Festival

Location: Leicestershire, England

July 7-9 2017

Bringing a quintessentially British flavour to the international yoga festival circuit, the Yoga Connects festival is in Glastonbury this year: the Heart Chakra of the UK on the Full Moon! There’s a jam packed line up this year with acro yoga and circus skills for the adventurous yogi, Capoeira, drumming and dancing for the music lover and meditation, gong baths and spa facilities for those wanting a more chilled vibe. Plus so much more! This is the Glasto music festival for the senses.

Sedona Yoga Festival

Location: Sedona, Arizona

February 2018

Located in the spiritually charged environment of the Arizona desert, with roots in native history and rich in “energy vortexes”, this 3-day festival focuses on yoga, meditation, energy medicine, healing arts, transformation, kirtan, mantra, and Ayurveda. The breathtaking setting and the quality of teaching here sneaks this festival into our top 5!
